When your life has been disrupted due to a serious accident, personal injury, or criminal charge, you need guidance you can trust. Criminal defense lawyer Robert Reives, II has a reputation for honesty and community involvement, as well as a notable record of success.

A former assistant district attorney, criminal defense lawyer Robert Reives has been successfully serving clients for over a dozen years. He holds a J.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Law and earned a renowned Pogue Scholarship while studying at UNC-Chapel Hill for a B.S. in Business Administration/Finance.

Starting a Legal Career

Robert Reives’ legal career started way back when he was still a student at one of North Carolina’s public schools. His teachers immediately noticed his aptitude and did everything they could to help him learn about the legal system. He showed an interest so early on that it was obvious law was his true passion.

The young attorney went above and beyond the standard school curriculum to understand the legal system because it interested him so much, marking the beginning of his career in criminal defense law. Once he got a taste of the law, Mr. Reives had a strong desire to help people and make a positive difference in his community. After graduating from UNC-Chapel Hill School of Law, Mr. Reives decided to return home to Sanford, North Carolina.

Gaining Extensive Experience

Mr. Reives’ first job as an attorney was as a prosecutor for the Lee County District Attorney’s Office. In this role, he had plenty of opportunities to help people in Sanford and the surrounding communities. For more than four years, Robert Reives handled everything from traffic offenses to major felonies, giving him extensive experience walking people through the scary process of going to court. Since entering private practice more than a decade ago, Mr. Reives continues to focus on helping people when they need it most. His extensive knowledge of the law and his varied experience have prepared him to be compassionate and a guiding force for many people trying to decipher what’s what during a legal case.

Serving the Community

Robert Reives was initially drawn to our firm because of William T. Wilson’s commitment to serving the community. Mr. Wilson is passionate about serving clients and doing everything he can to help people. Mr. Reives wanted the same thing for his practice, so he seized the opportunity to join the firm. Both partners are heavily involved in the community, and they encourage staff members to recognize the importance of community connections. Our clients are more than just names to us; they are friends and neighbors. Both Mr. Reives and Mr. Wilson feel a duty to serve the communities they live and work in, and the communities where their clients raise their families and earn a living, too.

Making a Difference

Mr. Reives believes that you should take every chance to make your community better. That’s why he also serves as a State Representative in the North Carolina House of Representatives. Although it’s tempting to focus on your own family, Reives says it’s important to make a difference in other people’s lives. He inspires others to contribute what they can, when they can, whether it is their time, money, talents, or other resources.

The North Carolina Bar Association recognizes Robert Reives as able to represent clients in both federal and state courts. Mr. Reives is also a certified mediator. He is active with the Chamber of Commerce, the Lee County Education Foundation, and the Lee County Bar Association as well.
